Edward L. Bennett, age 81, long time resident of New Egypt, formerly of Middletown, Cliffwood Beach, and Perth Amboy passed away on April 3rd, 2024 at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold. He was born in Long Branch, NJ on April 5, 1942 to the late Robert and Blanche May (nee Adams) Bennett. Edward proudly served in the United States Army. He also worked as a construction laborer for Local 72 AFLCIO. Edward enjoyed gardening and working outdoors, building things, and bird watching. He was a huge Trump supporter. Edward loved being outdoors. He was very patriotic and very proud of his 26 years of service to his country in the US Army. Edward was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend that will be deeply missed. Edward is predeceased by his parents, Robert and Blanche Bennett; and his siblings, Bobby Bennett, Marion Flannagan, Joseph Bennett(Buster), Marjorie Leach, Grover Richard Bennett (Dick), Gladys Soden(Sis), and Lois Korpon(Toot); and his granddog Quincy. He leaves behind his two children, Michele Isaksen, and Michael Bennett and wife Shannon; his grandson, Robert Isaksen III; and his two three siblings, John Bennett(Jack) , Thomas Bennett, and Charlotte Ann Richardson(Cookie); many nieces and nephews; and his two granddogs, Max and Alastar. Visitation will be held at Tilghman Funeral Home located at 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533 on Sunday, April 7, 2024 from 3 PM to 6 PM and again on Monday morning from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the funeral home. Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service for Edward on Monday, April 8, 2024 at 9:30 AM at with interment to follow at BGWCD Veteran Memorial Cemetery located at 350 Province Line Road Wrightstown, NJ 08562.
