Virginia S. Mears, age 61, long time resident of Bowie, Maryland, formerly of Tuckerton, NJ, passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2021 in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. She was born June 6, 1960 in Kingston, Jamaica to the late George and Cynthia (nee Evans) Brown. Virginia worked as a recruiter for Wawa. She was a loving sister, aunt, and friend that will be deeply missed. Virginia is predeceased by her beloved husband, James Mears; her parents, George and Cynthia Brown; and a sister, Jacqueline Brown. She leaves behind her five siblings, Dennis Brown of Jamaica, Ingrid Brown of Lanham, Maryland, Carol Woner and husband Louis of Mt. Holly, New Jersey, Marlene Brown of Jamaica, and Cislyn Cole of Jamaica; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to gather Friday, September 10, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, located at 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533. A funeral service will be begin at 1:00 PM with interment to follow at Zion Cemetery.
