Thomas (Tom) Lawrence Brusky age 89 passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2023, in Whiting, NJ. Memorial service will be held on July 7, 2023, at Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ at 12:30PM with interment to follow at 2PM at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery at 350 Province Line Road, Wrightstown, NJ. Calling hours will be held from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the funeral home.

Tom was born in Spencer, Wisconsin to Adam Brusky and Annette Gotstein Brusky. He served in the US Navy both, Stateside and Abroad, stationed in Yokosuka, Japan during the Korean War. Tom completed his undergraduate education at Seton Hall University and graduate work in History at Monmouth University. He had a meaningful and fulfilling career as a History and Asian Studies Teacher and later as a Curriculum Supervisor at the Neptune, NJ School System. He happily retired to Florida at age 56 and, surrounded with friends, he enjoyed golfing (had his hole in one), traveling, cruising in his convertible red Miata and serving as the Commodore of the Marina on Lake Tarpon. Tom relished life! He was often the life of the party and always ready to play.

He is predeceased by his parents and four older brothers Jerry, Jim, Harvey, and David. Tom is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Ruth Brusky, affectionately known as his "Ruffins", his son Michael A. Brusky and his daughter in law Bebe Brezanin-Brusky and his stepdaughter Judy Oliver. His grandchildren Adam Brusky and his wife Lauren White, Taylor Brusky, Bobby Oliver and his wife Jennifer Oliver, Kevin Oliver and his wife Megan Oliver. Tom was blessed with three great grandchildren Everett Brusky, Kayleigh Oliver, and Kennedy Oliver. He is also survived by his two sisters, Kathleen (Honey) Schaefer and Patricia (Patty) Burns.
