Obituary

Roger Amos St. John (92) of Columbus, New Jersey passed away at home on November 4, 2023. Roger was born in Massachusetts. After graduation, Roger served in the United States Air Force for 22+ years where he had assignments all around the world.


Once he retired from the Air Force, Roger received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in special education from The College of New Jersey, formerly, Trenton State College. Roger worked for The Burlington Special Services as a woodshop teacher for 20 years and impacted

countless lives.


His hobbies included traveling, outdoor activities, and woodworking. He was an incredibly talented woodworker.


Roger was predeceased by his parents and sister. Roger is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Albertine St. John (Santucci) and his 5 daughters: Denise St. John (Steve Mironov), Pamela St. John (Paul Marino), Judith St. John, Andrea St. John and Monica St. John-Close (William Close). He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren and blessed with many great-grandchildren.


Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, November 17, 2023 at 11:30 AM Saint Andews's Roman Catholic Church located at 2489 Monmouth Road, Jobstown, NJ 08041. Interment will immediately follow at BGWCD Veteran Memorial Cemetery located at 350 Province Line Road, Wrightstown, NJ 08562.


In lieu of flowers: As an expression of sympathy , donations may be directed to Special Olympics of New Jersey Area 13, 1 Eunice Kennedy Shriver Way, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. Please make checks payable to "Special Olympics NJ" and indicate that your gift is in memory of Roger A. St. John. Or please consider making donations toward a memorial bench for Roger in Mansfield Park. Please make a check payable to Albertine St. John with a memo "For Roger's Bench". Any excess donations will be donated to the Mansfield E.M.S
