Richard "Dickey" Cheesman

Richard “Dickey” Cheesman, age 90, longtime resident of Whiting, born December 11, 1935, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2026, at Samaritan Hospice in Mt. Holly.

Dickey worked for the NJ Department of Transportation. He liked taking trips to the New Egypt Flea Market. He enjoyed adventures to Atlantic City which brought him excitement and laughter, as did many spirited games of bingo. Dickey was a die heart Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan. He also enjoyed catching up on Fox News and keeping up with current Politics.

Dickey is predeceased by his beloved wife who just passed away in July, Joan Cheesman; his parents, Russell and Susie Cheesman; his grandson, Kenneth Mark Leeds; and by all his siblings. He is survived by his son, Rich Cheesman, and his wife, Donna; his grandchildren, Jeremiah Leeds and his fiancé Jenna Nazon; and his great-grandchildren, Galaxy, Gracie, Poppa, Chloe, and Harley.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Dickey, on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 12:00 p.m., both taking place at Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533.
