Obituary

Norma P. Tumminello, of Monroe and formerly of New Egypt, NJ, peacefully joined her beloved husband, Joseph A. Tumminello and adored daughter JoAnn Tumminello on Sunday, April 4, 2021. She was born in Paterson, NJ on February 2, 1924. Norma met her loving husband, Joseph A. Tumminello, through his sister and her good friend Toni Aquino. Once Norma and "Joey" met, they never wanted to be apart and married six months later in November 1945. Norma and Joey enjoyed trips to the track at Freehold Raceway. Norma was a wiz when it came to numbers. She could take any number and relate it to a birthday, birth year, license plate number, address, etc. She played the lottery faithfully, in particular the pick-it. She also enjoyed attending Obedience and Agility competitions in support of her daughter JoAnn and JoAnn's beloved dogs. Her favorite television show of all-time was Jeopardy, and she also enjoyed Wheel of Fortune. Norma loved her family, friends, and grand-dogs. During her ninety-seven years of life, she was dearly loved and will be greatly missed, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. Norma is survived by her daughter, Patricia Trani of Monroe, NJ; her three grandchildren, Angela Trani of Middletown, DE, Michael Trani of Covington, VA and his son, Norma's great-grandson Gryson; Vincenzo Trani, Jr. of Jersey City, NJ. She is also survived by her brother Karl; her two sisters Joan and Jeanne; her dear cousin Ruth, and several nieces, nephews and close friends. The family invites relatives and friends to join them in celebrating Norma's life on Monday April 12, 2021 from 11 to 1 at the Tilghman Funeral Home, located at 52 Main Street, New Egypt NJ 08533. A funeral service will begin promptly at 12:30 with interment to follow at 1:30 at the Brig. General William C. Doyle Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Cancer Research Institute – Ovarian Cancer at https://www.cancerresearch.org/ or to a charity of your liking. Due to COVID-19, facial coverings and social distancing are required.
