Michele A. Maio, age 61, longtime area resident of New Egypt, formerly of East Windsor, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at home with her family by her side. She was born January 14, 1961 in Queens, NY to the late John and Jane (nee Phillips) Naughton. Michele worked as a preschool teacher for Kiddie Academy located in Upper Freehold. She liked to do art projects, and read. Michele enjoyed working with children, and treated her students as they were her own. She loved being a grandmother. Michele was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend that will be deeply missed.
Michele is predeceased by her parents, John and Jane Naughton. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 47 years, Tony Maio of New Egypt; her 3 daughters, Michelle Bordonaro and husband John of New Egypt, Christina Maio of Indiana, Kaitlyn Maio and boyfriend Ben Shutman of Matawan; her grandchildren, Kallie and Addison; her three brothers, John Naughton and partner Cathy of New York, Timothy Naughton of New York, and Douglas Naughton and wife Rebecca of Parsippany.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Saturday, November 12, 2022 from 12:00 Noon until 4:00 PM at Tilghman Funeral Home located at 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution can be made in Michele's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital located at 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 (www.stjude.org/donate.com)
