Michael Kennedy, age 76, from Cream Ridge, entered eternal rest on Jun 20, 2024. Michael was born in Jersey City on July 7, 1947. He moved to Freehold where he resided for 25 years. He moved to Cream Ridge to be closer to his beloved family.
Michael was a graduate of Jersey City State College. He was employed as a Banker with the Trust Company of New Jersey. Mike retired as Vice President of Capitol One Bank in 2010 with 30 years of service in the banking field. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #2457 and he was the Vice President of the homeowners association of Deep Run Community.
Michael was a storyteller. He once said, "When a man's stories are remembered, then he is immortal." Anyone who has had the pleasure of hearing Mike's stories knows this to be true. He shared his love for books, birds, beer and sports with family, friends and strangers. Together with his son in law he crafted homebrewed beers which won many competitions statewide. Michael visited the library weekly and was diligent in returning his books on time. He cherished his time with family, especially his grandchildren. He was no ordinary Poppy making sure to attend the many events in his grandchildren's life.
Michael is predeceased by his father John Kennedy and his mother , Helen (nee Cashin), and brothers Robert and John. He leaves behind his loving wife Linda, his daughter Christine Flanagan, son in law Thomas. His Grandson Patrick Flanagan and his wife Carly. His granddaughter Alaina Hearon, her husband James and his two precious great-grandsons, Crew and Kai.
A Memorial Gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday June 25, 2024 from 2:00pm until 4:00pm at Tilghman Funeral Home located at 52 Main Street in New Egypt , N.J. The family asks in lieu of flowers to make a donation to the Plumsted Township Fire and EMS services .
