Mary C. Sotak, age 99, long time area resident of Whiting, formerly of New Egypt, Kenilworth passed away on Saturday, December 18, 2021. She was born April 2, 1922 in Emmonsburg, NY to the late Michael and Julia (nee Dzuga) Chuhralya. Mary enjoyed embroidery, crocheting, reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, gardening, and cooking. She loved taking trips with her children around the U S., watching American Pickers, and going on walks with her dogs. Mary was a loving mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, great great-grandmother, and friend that will be deeply missed. Mary is predeceased by her beloved husband Michael Sotak; her parents, Michael and Julia Chuhrayla; and her eight siblings. She leaves behind her four children, Michael Sotak and wife Jeanne of Vanceboro, NC, Pam Barry of Punta Gorda, Fl, Barbara Sotak of Whiting, and Carol Walker of Whiting; her seven grandchildren; her three great-grandchildren; and her two great great-grandchildren. Services at Brig. William C. Doyle Veteran Memorial Cemetery will be held privately at the convenience of the family. All arrangements are under the direction of Tilghman Funeral Home located in New Egypt, NJ.
