Maria Luisa Wagner, age 94, of Cookstown, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 29, 2020, at Aspen Hills Health Care Center in Pemberton. She was born on January 23, 1926 in Madrid, Spain to the late Santiago and Filomena Jimenez. Maria enjoyed gardening, cooking, knitting blankets, and writing poems. She was always dancing to her native Flamenco music. Maria was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend that will be deeply missed. Maria is predeceased by her parents, Santiago and Filomena (nee Cano) Jimenez; and by her beloved husband of 64 years, Francis S. Wagner. She leaves behind her three children, Francis "Paco" Wagner of Cookstown, James A. Wagner and wife Jill of Tinton Falls, and Maria D. Watson and husband Joseph of Maryland; her four grandchildren, Brent, Laura, Kelly, and Stephen; her four great-grandchildren and one on the way; and her sister, Angela Curtice and husband Larry of Omaha, Nebraska. Friends and family are invited to gather for a memorial service for Maria on Monday, July 6, 2020 from 10AM to 11AM at Tilghman Funeral home located at 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533, with interment to follow, where Maria will be laid to rest with her beloved husband at Brig. General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown. All guests are required to wear a face covering and social distancing guidelines must be followed.
