Margaret M. Wallace

Margaret Wallace (Gimskie) born May 1, 1932 in Natick, MA, died June 30, 2026. Daughter to Edward and Edna Gimskie, wife to husband Dale I Wallace on April 21, 1956.

Margaret and Dale raised 8 children: Brian (Janeen) of Piscataway; Donna of Columbus; Scott (Chong Hui) of Burlington Twshp; Virginia (Dena) of Winston-Salem, NC; Deirdre (Stuart) Wallace-Hente of Albuquerque, NM; William (Jennifer) of Piscataway; JoanMarie (Jeff) Germain of Brick; Thomas of Whitehouse Station.

She was also the proud grandmother to 26 grandchildren and 18 greats.

She had three sisters Ann Scrudato (predeceased); Jeanie Lubitsky of Lady Lake, FL; and Joanie Cloud of Sparks, NV.

Upon graduation from Holy Trinity High School in Westfield, she started her first career at NJ Bell. Then she met Dale Wallace at a dance in Fort Monmouth, NJ. Dale was then serving in the US Army, and served during the Korean Conflict. They were apart for 16 months. Upon his return they were married in April 1956. They recently celebrated their 70 th Anniversary.

Her second and the most important career was raising a family. There were hard times, but there were also wonderful times. Just get the bunch of us together one day and we will have you enjoying our fond memories as well. Always the “good sport”, whether it be hiding her tea cups so she would make a second cup, or modifying the ingredients to a cake mix, it didn’t phase her.

Her household was full with the washing machine churning everyday, going through 2 gallons of milk and 1-2 loaves of bread each day. We would enjoy our sit down dinner at the “Last Supper Table” as a family friend named it. Sunday morning breakfasts were always special before heading to mass.

Margaret was devout Catholic and became involved with various activities at Our Lady Of Fatima, Piscataway NJ, including the Alter Rosary Society, “Fish”, and Stations of the Cross. Saint Teresa was her “go to”. She was always praying to her for one of us. Answers always came with the scent of roses, or roses blooming on her favorite bush. She was a member of the Red Hat Society.

After several moves in the early years they settled in Piscataway. They spent many years there until they retired to Brick.
