Obituary

Jeremy "Coop" Schaffer, age 48, resident of New Hanover, formerly of Hamilton, passed away on October 5, 2022. He was born on January 29, 1974 in Trenton, NJ to his parents Leonard and Cynthia (nee Dombroski) Schaffer. Jeremy worked as a building management specialist for the Department of Military and Veteran Affairs, for the past 6 years. He worked at the Department of Environmental Protection for 16 years prior. He also was a part time realtor for 22 years. He was a graduate of Rowan University with a BS and MBA. He enjoyed playing golf, soccer, and fantasy football. Jeremy was a member of the New Egypt Elks. He was also a parishioner at the Church of Assumption located in North Hanover. Jeremy loved coaching his sons for years in soccer and baseball, and spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandson, uncle, cousin, and friend that will be deeply missed.


Jeremy is predeceased by his father, Leonard Schaffer, Jr. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 18 years, Cathryn (nee Ecke) Schaffer of New Hanover; his two sons, Nicholas Schaffer and Landon Schaffer both of New Hanover; his mother, Cynthia Schaffer of Hamilton, NJ; his brother and sister, Christopher Schaffer of Hamilton, and Rachel Schaffer of Hamilton; his grandmother, Clara Schaffer; his 2 sister-in-laws, 3 brother-in-laws, 2 nieces and 2 nephews along with many extended family members and friends.


A Mass of Christian Burial for Jeremy will be held on Wednesday, October 12 at 12:00 Noon at the Church of the Assumption – St. Isidore the Farmer Parish, 28 Monmouth Road (Route 537), Wrightstown, NJ 08562. A visitation will take place before the Mass from 10:00 AM until Noon Wednesday at the Church.
