James Campos

James Campos, lovingly known as Jim or Jimmy, a beloved father, husband, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2026, at the age of 77. A longtime resident of New Egypt, NJ, James was born on March 22, 1949, in Newark, NJ.

James served in the U.S. Army from April 4, 1968, until his honorable discharge on March 3, 1970, with the 1st Calvary Air Mobile Division as a Combat Medic in Vietnam.

During his service in Vietnam, he was awarded a Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Army Commendation Medal, and Combat Medical Badge.

He carried his commitment to service into his career, spending many years as the Manager of Supplier Relations at PSE&G, where he formed lasting relationships and was respected for his dedication and work ethic.

James found joy in life’s simple pleasures. Whether he was greeting the morning with a fresh newspaper and a crossword puzzle, or meticulously tending to his yard, he appreciated the quiet beauty of a daily routine. He carried a lifelong love for music, proudly singing in a band during his high school years. Known for his quick wit, James was an avid fan of sitcoms and loved nothing more than cracking jokes to bring joy to those around him. His infectious smile could light up any room, and his playful spirit was perfectly reflected in his lifelong affection for his favorite characters, Snoopy and Woodstock.

James is predeceased by his parents, Henrique and Laura Campos, and his brother and sister, Manny Campos and Laura Cunha.

James's warm heart and vibrant spirit were especially evident in the way he adored his family. He is survived by his wife, Terry Campos; his three children, Lisa Cliver and her husband Dean, Jay Campos and significant other Lori, Laurie Campos and her significant other Brian; his two step-daughters, Jamie Worrall and her husband Michael, and Jodi Glatz and her husband Benjamin; his grandchildren, Stephanie and her husband Nick, Allyson and her husband James, Kayla and her husband Tanner, Anthony, Brendon, Draven, and Madyson; his great-grandchildren, Nathan, Noelle, Delanie, Levi and Ledger; and his brother Henrique Campos and his wife Patricia.

He took great pride in his role as a grandfather and great-grandfather, often sharing laughter and special moments with his grandchildren, who will deeply miss his gentle guidance and affectionate presence.

Services for James are being held privately at the convenience of the family. All arrangements are under the direction of Tilghman Funeral Home located in New Egypt, NJ.
