Ilona (nee Marik) Fernandez, age 86, longtime resident of Browns Mills, formerly of Pemberton passed away peacefully on Friday, September 13, 2024 at Virtua Memorial Hospital in Mount Holly. She was born on September 27, 1937 in the Czech Republic to Rudolf and Elizabeth Marik. Ilona loved gardening, cooking for her family, and knitting. She was parishioner at St. Anne's in Browns Mills. Ilona was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend that will be deeply missed.

Ilona is predeceased by her beloved husband, Jose Fernandez; her parents, Rudolf and Elizabeth (nee Schmidt) Marik; and her two siblings, Peter and Ingrid. She leaves behind her two sons, George Fernandez and with Jacquana, and Roberto Fernandez and Kimberly; and her six grandchildren, Hanna and husband Dane, Catherine and husband Rogelio, Christine, Roberto Jr., Christian, and Caiden; and her first great-granddaughter on the way.

Funeral services for Ilona are being held privately at the convenience of the family. She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband Jose at BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown. All arrangements are under the direction of Tilghman Funeral Home located in New Egypt, NJ.
