Gloria Beatrice Watts passed away peacefully on July 1, 2026, at the age of ninety-six. She was a loving wife and devoted mother of three children. Gloria was born on July 12, 1929, in Trenton, New Jersey, to Frank and Margaret Blank. On January 15, 1949, she married her beloved husband, Carl Watts. They raised two sons, Wayne and Glenn, and one daughter, Darlene.

Gloria grew up in the Trenton Franklin Park neighborhood before moving to Hamilton in her second year of high school. She graduated from Hamilton High West. Gloria was close to her grandmothers Elizabeth and Beatrice and spoke lovingly of her fond childhood memories of growing up with them. Through the years, Gloria was employed by Westinghouse, NJ State Police, The State of New Jersey, and Dunham’s department store. She enjoyed telling the story of how she was in the process of joining the army when her recruiting officer asked her on a date. Two months later they married and were inseparable for the next 51 years. The couple spent several years in Anchorage, Alaska, where Carl was stationed in the Army and where they welcomed their daughter. Gloria enjoyed travels to Florida, Canada, England, Scotland and for many years to St. Croix with dear friends with whom she had many wonderful adventures. She also especially enjoyed trips to the Jersey shore. In addition to her family and friends, Gloria had a special love for animals and took in many strays over the years. She enjoyed daily walks at local parks, dining out and visiting thrift stores where she found treasured items. Gloria was known for her glamorous style, wearing hats and for her fondness for costume jewelry. She enjoyed going to the local gym up until her early nineties, enjoying swimming classes and making new friends. Through the years Gloria lovingly cared for many of her elderly family members. She especially loved her park-like home in Robbinsville, New Jersey, where she and her husband had their happiest times as they held family picnics, graduation and pool parties and where she could often be found in her beautiful gazebo lovingly built by her son Glenn. Gloria cherished her friendships and was a true and loyal friend. She thoughtfully sent cards to express her gratitude for friends and would enjoy receiving them in return. Gloria was affectionately called Granny by her great-grandchildren, whom she adored. She dearly loved her entire family and was especially grateful for the love and care shown to her in her final years by her son Wayne and daughter Darlene.

Gloria was preceded in death by her father Frank and her mother Margaret, her husband of 51 years Carl, her son Glenn and grandson Michael and her son-in-law Gary. She is survived by her children Wayne Watts of Wrightstown and Lorraine, Darlene Grainger of Wrightstown, grandchildren Gary Grainger, Vanessa Grainger, Courtney Kitts, Brian Watts and Heather, Daniel Watts and Jennifer, and Jessie Broxterman, and great grandchildren Daelin Circello and Chase, Amalia Kitts, Brielle Kitts, William Kitts, Levi Watts, and great, great granddaughter soon to arrive, along with her brother Frank Blank and Elaine of Florida.

Gloria often spoke of the beauty of the earth and her love of life. She was known to stop her car and nudge a turtle across the street to safety. Dedicated as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1972, Gloria found great comfort in God’s word the Bible and the promises it holds for the resurrection. She had a gift for striking up conversations and sharing the good news of God’s Kingdom with nearly everyone she met. Looking back, Gloria would always say she had a wonderful life. Farewell our dear Mother, Grandmother, and friend. We know you are at peace and safe in God’s memory. Until we meet again. The family would like to thank Frank and Diana Conte for playing a vital role in Gloria’s support system throughout her final years.

Burial will be private and under the direction of Tilghman Funeral Home, New Egypt, New Jersey.
