Obituary

Frank J. Ondrushek, Jr. passed away peacefully on March 5 th, 2023 with family by his side.


He was born in Shelton, CT, to the late Frank J. and Vlasta Ondrushek. He was raised in Trenton and Hamilton, NJ, attending local schools and graduated from Hamilton High School in 1955. Upon graduation, he joined the Marine Corps Reserves attending basic training in Camp Lejune, NC.


His professional masonry career began in 1958, as an apprentice sponsored by the Bricklayers, Masons & Plasterers of Mount Holly Local #47. He transitioned from the union to start a business with his brother-in-law, Blair McClure, establishing M & O Construction. Frank later rejoined the masonry union workforce and retired from BAC Local #5.


A dedicated and loving family man, his motto: "Anything for the kids". Frank was active with the church and community serving in a variety of ways: appointed and elected to the New Egypt School Board of Education, member of New Egypt Elks Lodge #2457, Chair of the Elks Youth Activities, former member of Hook & Hoof Hunting Club, Lifetime member of Fin, Fur Feather (FFF) Sportsmen's Club, and the Little Bigger League. He was an ardent hunter and fisherman, loved golf and traveling, but any events involving his children or grandchildren was a TOP PRIORITY.


Survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Fran Ondrushek (Schwartz), son Frank G. (Chip) Ondrushek, daughter Lisa A. Lowe (Ondrushek), son in law Robert E. Lowe, Jr., grandchildren Jennifer Lowe and Sean Lowe (forever "Buddy Bears"), brother in law Wes Dawson, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews of the following families: Beisel, Ryan, Grimes, Meyer, Bolla, Pepper, McClure, Bush, Simms, Ondrushek and Pastore.


Predeceased by his sister, Vera McClure and her husband Blair; brother, Alec Ondrushek and his wife Lorraine and his 2nd wife Connie Parker; and his sister Millie Simms and her first husband Don Simms.


Calling hours will be Saturday, March 18th, 2023 at Church of the Assumption - St. Isidore the Farmer Parish, 28 Monmouth Road, Wrightstown, NJ 08562 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by a memorial mass at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private. Following the Mass at 12:30 PM, a Celebration of Life will be held at the New Egypt Elks Lodge #2457 located at 105 Lakewood Road, New Egypt, NJ 08533.
