Obituary

Eduardo Myers Menal

January 28, 1958 - February 27, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Eduardo Myers Menal on February 27, 2025, at the age of 67. Eduardo was a beloved father, brother, and friend, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Eduardo was lovingly referred to as Eddie by friends and family. Born on January 28, 1958, in Colón, Panama, to Mavis Myers and Gerald Menal, Eddie spent his formative years enjoying the beauty and rich culture of his native country. In 1969, Eddie immigrated from Panama to Brooklyn, NY, where he attended South Shore High School before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps in 1980. After completing his initial obligation of service, Eddie immediately re-enlisted, serving for a total of 11 years, reaching the rank of Sergeant, and receiving numerous medals and decorations for his service.

Eddie had immense pride in being a Marine and serving the United States. He also appreciated the opportunity to travel and see the world that the military afforded him. Eddie even spent many years stationed in Okinawa, Japan, before being honorably discharged in 1991. After completing his service, Eddie worked for Lansing Correctional Facility in Lansing, KS.

Eddie enjoyed learning about different things and developed many hobbies as a result of this. He loved lifting weights and staying physically fit, playing basketball, fixing cars, and collecting and listening to music. An overall lover of animals, Eddie took a liking to pigeons at a young age, often spending hours tending to them on the roof of his childhood home.

Eddie was outgoing, and everyone who knew him would say he was extremely strong and well-liked. He prided himself on being a good friend to those he loved, often going out of his way to ensure the well-being of those around him.

He is survived by his children, Chiante (husband Brett), Alieshia, and Quentin; grandchildren, Brycen, Gabriella, Braylon, and Shannon; siblings in the United States, Patrícia (husband Barry), Rigoberto (wife Anna), and Delcia (husband Neville); siblings abroad, Rosmery, Rosa, Marianna, and Anna; nieces and nephews, Tamika, Kiana, Jhonte, Alexander, and Danique; and a host of loving uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mavis and Gerald; and siblings, Myel, Gillie, and Maria.

A celebration of Eddie's life will be held on Monday, March 17, 2025, between 8:00 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. at Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ, 08533. Interment will take place at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940.

Eddie's legacy will live on through the love and memories he created with his family and all those fortunate enough to have known him.
