David Charles Sager, age 73, of Jobstown, NJ passed away Friday, March 28, 2025 at home. Born in Allentown, NJ to the late Samuel and Elsie (Hopkins) Sager, he was a lifelong Burlington County resident. Some of his fondest memories were living at Hellis Stock Farm with his parents and siblings.
David worked at Mercer Rubber and then went on to work at Ocean Spray for 30 years until his retirement. In retirement, he enjoyed buying and selling horse tack with the little business him and Sherri created. David was also proud to be the caretaker of the Upper Springfield Meeting House and Cemetery where he took great pride in the everyday maintenance.
David loved all things horses, pigeons, animals and country!
His greatest pride and joy were his boys and grandson. He loved spending time with Timmy and watching him train horses. He was so proud to watch Davey be able to fix all things mechanical.
David is predeceased by his parents, Samuel and Elsie (Hopkins) Sager; his son, Timothy Wright Sager and his siblings, Stanley, Sara, Richard, Elsie, Lester, Melvin and Kenny.
David is survived by his longtime companion, Sherri Bailey and her family; his son, David Sager, Jr.; his grandson, Nick Sager Phillips and his siblings, Samuel, Jesse and wife Maryann, Amy, Sharon and Rosalee along with many nephews, nieces and cousins.
Funeral services for David will be held on Thursday evening, April 3 at 7:30 PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533 with calling hours from 6:00 to 7:30 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be on Friday morning at 10:00 AM at the Springfield Meeting House Cemetery on Highland Road in Jobstown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in David's memory can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. A printable donation form is available on their website which also allows you to donate electronically.
