David K. "Poppy" Bauman, age 87, resident of New Egypt, passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at Centra State Medical Center in Freehold. He was born on February 21, 1937 in Canton, Ohio. David worked in the maintenance department at the Hanover Golf Course and as a custodian for Monmouth County Vocational Technical School in Allentown for over 20 years before retiring.

He loved to travel, especially on trips to Lancaster with his wife Peggy, and car racing, spending many Saturday nights at Wall Stadium. David was also an avid fan of both Star Trek and Star Wars.

David was predeceased by his bride, Peggy, in 2022; he is survived by his son Dale Wright and his wife Donna of Whiting, his daughter Verna Osofsky and her husband David of Whiting; his 6 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Monday, August 12, 2024 from 10:00am until 11:00am at Tilghman Funeral Home 52 Main Street New Egypt, NJ 08533. A funeral service will begin at 11:00am at the funeral home, followed by a graveside service in the Jacobstown Baptist Cemetery, Jacobstown.
