Dale I. Wallace

Dale I. Wallace, born June 23, 1931, in Ogden, Utah, to Alexander and Naomi Wallace, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2026, in Edison, New Jersey. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 70 years, Margaret Wallace, who passed away in June 2026. Dale grew up in Utah and Oregon and lived for a time in England during World War II. Graduated from Parkrose High School, Portland, Oregon. He later settled in New Jersey. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints i and later served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War era.

A longtime resident of Piscataway, New Jersey, Dale and Margaret raised eight children before retiring to Brick, New Jersey, in 1998.

Dale is survived by his eight children: Brian Wallace (Janeen) of Piscataway, NJ; Donna Wallace of Columbus, NJ; Scott Wallace (Chong Hui) of Burlington Township, NJ; Virginia Wallace (Dena) of Winston-Salem, NC; Deirdre Wallace-Hente (Stuart) of Albuquerque, NM; William Wallace (Jennifer) of Piscataway, NJ; JoanMarie Germain (Jeff) of Brick, NJ; and Thomas Wallace of Whitehouse Station, NJ.

He was the proud grandfather of 26 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Dale was predeceased by all five of his siblings: Marjorie Kvavle, Murial Wallace, Joan Clawson, Jean Kvavle, and Doug Wallace.

A skilled builder and craftsman, Dale worked in construction, electronics, and various other trades. He generously shared his skills by performing construction and renovations on many of his children's homes, as well as his own. Together with Margaret, he owned and operated a Carvel franchise in Piscataway, NJ, and The Carousel Ice Cream Shop in Warren Township, NJ Dale enjoyed fishing, gardening, stone polishing and bird watching. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and craftsman who lived a life marked by hard work, resilience, faith, and a quiet devotion to those he loved.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Sunday, September 27, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533.  Funeral services will be held Monday, September 28, 2026, at 11am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 373 Croshaw Road, Wrightstown, NJ 08562. Burial will follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in North Hanover, NJ 08562
