Clyde Curtis Jackson, resident of Lumberton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at the age of 73. Born on December 28, 1952, in Trenton, New Jersey, Clyde spent his formative years in Cream Ridge NJ and graduated from Allentown High School. He dedicated himself to his passion as an automotive technician and business owner while serving his community with skill and integrity.
Clyde is predeceased by his parents, Clyde and Annie Jackson, his wife Shirley Jackson, sisters; Marsha, Peggy, and RoseMarie. He leaves behind his son, Curtis Jackson (Joanne); Lisa Rains, whom he loved as a daughter, and John C. Bowser, whom he loved as a son. He is also survived by his siblings Isaac Jenkins, Linda Jenkins, Patricia Barnwell, Henry Jackson, Alfreida Pettiford, and Diane Jackson. He is survived by many loving nieces and nephews, along with his honorary grandchildren. Also leaving behind a partner and friend Beth Shinn.
Above all, Clyde's greatest bond was with his son, Curtis, who was not only his child but his best friend. Clyde taught Curtis everything he knew about cars, passing down a shared passion that became the foundation of their relationship. He mentored Curtis and many others throughout his life. Curtis often says his father shaped him into the man he is today.
Known for his larger-than-life personality, Clyde enjoyed the simple pleasures in life—whether it was racing cars, spending quiet afternoons fishing, or attending car shows to share his love for automobiles. He was also a knowledgeable gardener, often sharing his expertise and gardening tips with friends and family, fostering a sense of community and nurturing those around him.
Clyde's quick wit and warm heart left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He created bonds through his stories and laughter, and his spirit will continue to live on in the memories of those he loved.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Saturday, September 5, 2026, from 12 PM to 2 PM at Tilghman Funeral Home, located at 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533. A funeral service will begin at 2 PM at the funeral home.
