Catherine J. Mason, age 85, of Pemberton, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at her home. She was born in Greencastle, Indiana on May 27, 1932. Catherine enlisted in the US Army and served for 21 years before retiring in 1971. After her retirement from the military, Catherine went on to work for the State of New Jersey for several years. She was a loving daughter, wife, cousin and friend who will be deeply missed. Catherine is predeceased by her parents, William P. Buckner and Mary E. Buckner (nee Patton) and her adored husband Samuel Mason. She leaves behind her cousin Patricia Faulkner of Warrensville Heights, Ohio and several friends. Services for Catherine are being held private at the convenience of the family. She will join her late husband at the Brig. General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, New Jersey. All arrangements are under the direction of the Tilghman Funeral Home, New Egypt, New Jersey.
