Bruce E.
Wheeler
Oct 29, 1951 — Nov 5, 2023
The lord knew he was tired and called upon Bruce Edward Wheeler. Bruce passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at his home. Bruce was born on October 29, 1951 in Portland, Maine to Joan (nee Libby) and Anthony Wheeler. Bruce attended Allentown High School and then enlisted into the United States Marine Corps in 1969. Bruce served a tour in Vietnam as a Lance Corporal. After proudly serving his country honorably he started his family.
In Bruce's down time, you could find him at the softball fields, watching NASCAR or Westerns, or at the track. Bruce spent many years coaching and playing men's softball, where his teams won many Championships. Bruce was an avid racing fan, not only did he drive the cars, but he also owned multiple dirt racing cars, worked the pit crew, and was a huge supporter of East Windsor, Flemington, Bridgeport, and New Egypt Speedways. As well as several Pennsylvania and Delaware tracks.
Most importantly Bruce loved his family and having all of them around. He enjoyed making people happy, whether it was making them food or cracking jokes.
Bruce is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Diana (nee Ely). His daughters; Kristine (Michael), Erin (Luis), Megan, and son Steven (Christina). Bruce had 8 grandchildren; Peter, Alexandria, Anthony, Michael, Andrew, Jaxsen, Carter, and Nicholas that he adored. As well as many close friends he cared for as if they were family. But most of all Bruce was loved by those who knew him.
