Obituary

Barbara J. Begley, age 90, of Cream Ridge, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2020 at home. Barbara was born in Reading, PA to the late Francis and Hazel (Moore) Keens on June 4, 1929. She worked as secretary for Princeton University and as a gardener for the Rutgers Extension in Cream Ridge. Barbara taught Sunday school at Cream Ridge, then later taught at the Plumsted Presbyterian Church. She was a former 4-H leader and enjoyed being around others, especially her family. Barbara was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend who will be deeply missed. Barbara was predeceased by her parents; by her adored husband John F. Begley and by her sister Shirley H. Gomany. She is survived by her four children, John Begley (Barbara), JoAnn Search (William), Patricia Begley and Diana Begley (Rich Roveda Jr.); by her seven grandchildren, Brett Search (Tina), Jason Search (Matthew Mayfield), John Begley (Barbara), Kerri Lenhart (Jason), Scott Rochester (Amie Fortuna), Amy Rochester and Kayla McGurrin; by her six great-grandchildren Bryce, Delainey and Brooke Search, Shelby Begley and Khloe and Royce Rochester; her brother Francis G. Keens; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, January 29, 2020, from 10AM to 12PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, located at 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533. Interment will follow at the Cream Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Barbara's memory to the New Egypt First Aid Squad, P.O. Box 368, New Egypt, NJ 08533.
