Alan J. Mitchell, age 70, longtime resident of Howell, passed away on April 8, 2024 at Deborah Heart and Lung Center in Browns Mills. He was born on June 1, 1953 in Lakewood, NJ to the late Donald and Anna (nee Connely) Mitchell. Alan worked as grounds keeper for Fairfield Park in Freehold. He enjoyed woodworking, collecting antiques, and working on cars. Alan loved antique cars and riding motorcycles. He had a special place in his heart for monkeys. Alan was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend that will be deeply missed.

Alan is predeceased by his parents, Donald and Anna Mitchell; his two sisters and brother, Sharon, Connie, and Tom. He leaves behind wife, Jo Ann Leger of Howell; his three children, Ryan Mitchell, Jordan Mitchell, and Dylan Mitchell all of Howell; his granddaughter, Ophelia; and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend the memorial service for Alan on Saturday, April 20, 2024 from 2 PM to 6 PM at the Cassville Volunteer Fire Co. located at 785 Miller Ave, Jackson, NJ 08527. All arrangements are under the direction of Tilghman Funeral Home, New Egypt, NJ.
